today i bought an arduino uno and downloaded the xod and when i started downloading the code on the arduino there was an error: Error during Upload: uploading error: uploading error: exit status 1

If you scroll back in the error window, it probably gives more details that would help to understand what the problem is. First things to check: did you configure XOD for the correct board? Did you configure the correct port for upload?
