You cannot connect an encoder to a Real Time Clock. You could pull the time from the RTC, then use an encoder to modify that time, then write it back to the RTC module. You would have to store the time in ‘buffer’ nodes (probably a separate buffer for year, month, day, hours, minutes, etc), then write wrapper code to be able to modify the values, then combine them into a format the RTC can understand.
