26 yo second time around(52!) male living in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.
I can build most simple electrical circuits but have no idea about programming anything, so now is as good a time as any to try and learn a new set skills.
My first project has been buzzing around inside my head since 2009, and I seriously need to set it free!
It is 28 bicycle gear position indicator, using Arduino and LED display.
Gears are indicated by 4 PNP NO proximity sensors (A B C D) on the front gears, and 7 PNP NO proximity sensors (1 2 3 4 5 6 7) on the rear gears. G1 = A1, G7 = A7, G8 = B1, G15 = B7 etc
Once I get the gear indicator working, I then want to use the gearing co-efficients associated with those gears, to be able to calculate the cadence of the front gears, and KPH off the rear wheels.

BUT baby steps first!
