looks like this is being addressed already(we may see something in the future)
Unfortunately i think something like this would have to be coded in to XOD itself, i don’t believe a node has access to the required functions. (someone correct me if i am wrong)
In the meantime i am working on a temporary node to do just this (one small hurdle to overcome yet) bradzilla84/serial-plotter
