# Updating to latest release Help needed

hi, there my mac XOD has upgraded its self to the latest release is there a way of doing this for Linux or do I have to reinstall it? thanks for your help from sam

Linux version does not support auto-updates because of the strict OS permission system. You have to install a new version over the old one. One day we’ll have XOD capable of installing from native Linux repo’s.

If someone can help with PPA maintenance for Ubuntu, that would be great.
