# Offline NodeMCU 8266 board Library/tool installation

When we upload certain sketch for the first time to a NodeMCU 8266 board, it requires certain tool/libraries to be installed as well. The size is quite big for someone who are facing slow Internet connection. Is that a way we can install it offline? (I’ve tried to find the solution in this forum)

If you already have it on another pc, copy the “\_\_ packages \_\_” folder from "…/user/xod/"and paste it on the new pc, replacing the existing one.
If you create a different workspace on the same pc, you may also need to clone that folder to the new one.
